pitway Joined: 19 Oct 2004, 15:00 Posts: 1517 Location: Vendee 85	European card style driving licence in France Caught a little bit of a report on the radio last week that France is not going to introduce the euro card type driving licence. At last, the french bit of pink paper is a blooming nuisance and after being stuffed in wallets tends to resemble a bit of toilet paper the ones I have seen do anyway. only taken them from 2006 to get round to it!! good old france. Pomhorn has probably already got a post for this somewhere but it didn't jump out and bite me so thought I would mention it

The new European driving licence card will start to be introduced from to be introduced from 2012.( If they manage to clear all questions around it till then ) - They still have to determine what data each state puts on it, if it goes over the minimum planned). NB. It is not a must! Only from 2033! It is supposed also to simply collecting fines from non-residents. If that is the case, it may well be nobody's interest ( if you travel by car outside France ) to get the new card quick!
