I'm in need of some basic espagnolettes for my new windows. All the websites in the uk have them selling for anywhere between 100 & 200 quid which isgoing to be v expensive for 20 of them!
Does anyone know if they are cheaper in France as they use them a lot more than we do in the uk and where can I get them?

Hi Paul,
I posted a similar question a couple of weeks ago. I needed 12 of them and the cheapest place I eventually found them was in the UK at B&Q Online. Solid brass at £59 per set, pretty good quality too! they also do a chrome finish which is a few quid dearer
If you are searching French web sites the French term for the espagnolettes is Cremone et Tringle, But watch out as the handles(cremone) and the rods (tringle) are often sold seperately.

Espagnolette is what you are looking for

You will get them in any DIY store of ironmonger

Thanks for all the pointers here. I've managed to find several places that sell them and it seems that in French, espagnolettes are called 'Fausse Cremones'. As someone said, they often seem to be sold as the bar (Tringle) and fittings (fausse cremone) separately. I think that it should be possible to buy them at about £45 a set which is considerably cheaper than anywhere in the UK and quite a saving on 21 windows!
