I saw a poster in town this evening with a picture of a hamburger, and just above it what looked like a fresh t*rd about to drop onto it.

Underneath, with no explanation, were the words DOUBLE SHINY BACON

What does it mean ?

Sometimes the French printing of a "T" looks like a "N"

Double shiny?? Isn't that the point when bacon has rotted to the point of turning green and shiny? Sort of an oil on water effect.

It's a bad translation of doré (= golden = shiny) in their desperation to Americanize it for the French market.

The ad refers to American bread(s) therefore the 'double shiny' is a double burger with bacon in a shiny (surfaced) roll as the picture shows quite clearly..

I cant see the picture but will stick with the lovely image conjured up by the OP of a turd, possibly a shiny one, about to drop onto the burger.

What a match made in heaven :D

Happy to report that that particular Shiny turd was very tasty. It's somewhat ironic that some of the local offerings with names that the food snobs would gush over actually do taste like turds.
